What we do

Husband and wife owned K Busy Bee was started in 1982 while the founder was in High School. Having learned the need for a solid work ethic from a father who was a professional spray painter and coal miner and mother who was a dairy farmer who had their son late in their lives but died while he was still in his late teens he set out with a dream, a truck, an education, mentor, and a non-self-propelling lawn mower to start what would become K Busy Bee.

The founder, at one time, lived in a two-car garage while working as a maintenance person, school bus driver, dairy farmer, and commercial driver all at once. He started as the first lawn care company in the area in 1982-1983. In 1984 the first employee was hired among "many sleepless nights crying on my pillow wondering if I would make it" as breaking into the business world is not a plan to be taken on lightly.

Once he considered himself established, he continued to working lawn care but expanded his own role as owner and worker to include working as an inventor creating lawn/landscape projects to help his customers achieve a pleasing look to their homes. It was at this time that he expanded the business into excavation work. With a continuing desire to help people it was time to begin allowing customers to finance projects which continues to be K Busy Bee's practice even today.

It has taken the trust in himself and from the members of the community to bring this dream to reality.
